Formula and batch factors

A formula may need a minimum practical batch to mix and process consistently. Product viscosity, heating, homogenisation and expected processing loss can all affect that minimum.

Packaging factors

Bottles, pumps, jars, labels, cartons and decoration often have their own supplier quantities. A small manufacturing batch can still become commercially impractical if custom packaging has a much higher minimum.
