Cosmetic Packaging Checklist Before Manufacturing

Short answer

Approve cosmetic packaging as a system: container, closure or pump, label, carton, filling volume and user experience. A visually attractive pack can still fail commercially if it is difficult to fill, dispense or source consistently.

Container and dispensing

Confirm nominal size, intended fill, closure fit and the way the product dispenses. Thick products, liquids, sprays and oils do not all suit the same closure or pump.

Artwork and label space

Reserve enough readable space for the product identity, directions, ingredient information, warnings, batch identification and other market-required information. Final requirements depend on the intended market.

Supply and production readiness

Confirm supplier quantity, colour consistency, lead time, component count, transport cartons and the approved sample before production is scheduled.
